Localization Business Development Regional Lead
Ea Shanghai office - Hybrid role
Reporting to the Business Development and Culturalization Manager, the Loc Business Development Regional Lead ensures localization delivery predictability, operational readiness, and quality governance for titles operating within the Mainland China ecosystem. You will be EA Localization's regional subject matter expert and strategic advisor for Asia, with a special focus on Greater China:
You will translate global localization strategy into structured regional execution frameworks
You will provide market-informed insights to Publishing, Commercial, and Development partners.
You will combine regional operational leadership with strategic advisory capability to ensure understanding between global portfolio goals and Greater China publishing requirements.
Tasks
Regional Delivery Governance & Operational Readiness
- Lead coordination understanding of localization production frameworks across global teams for titles releasing in Greater China.
- Establish and maintain structured production frameworks that safeguard milestone adherence and execution stability.
- Guide resource forecasting and capacity planning in partnership with global production partners.
- Identify and engage with regional based 3rd party industry partners to enhance regional execution capability and market awareness
- Find and address operational, regulatory, and scope-related risks affecting delivery timelines or quality.
- Implement defined validation checkpoints to ensure output standards and compliance requirements are met.
- Provide structured escalation management and early issue detection to reduce downstream impact and protect delivery commitments.
Strategic Market Enablement & Publishing Agreement
- Be the primary regional contact for localization matters affecting Greater China releases.
- Provide structured regional expertise to inform Publishing, Commercial, and Development decision-making.
- Advise on culturalization, regulatory, and operational considerations affecting localization scope and execution feasibility.
- Contribute regional production assumptions, feasibility assessments, and risk evaluations to support business case development and investment discussions.
- Ensure operational understanding between global localization strategies and Greater China execution requirements.
- Represent EA Localization in senior-level or third-party discussions where regional execution advisory is required.
Partner Leadership & Influence
- Develop trusted partnerships with senior Publishing, Commercial, and Development partners.
- Communicate delivery status, risks, and scope changes to promote informed decision-making and reduce escalations.
- Be the structured escalation point for regional localization challenges.
- Promote transparency and understanding across global partners to strengthen collaboration and predictability.
Quality Oversight & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee performance standards and output quality of native experts and regional contributors.
- Provide structured feedback to enhance execution consistency.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements that increase production flexibility.
- Contribute regional insights to portfolio-level planning discussions where relevant.
Knowledge Required
- Fluency in English and native Mandarin required.
- Two years of knowledge of EA Localization processes, production lifecycles, and delivery governance frameworks.
- Strategic planning capability with an ability to translate market conditions into operational execution models.
- Partnership with senior partners.
- Experience with Greater China publishing pathways, regulatory considerations, and culturalization requirements.
- Risk management and structured in data analysis.
- Executive level communication.
- Balance of quality, cost, and timeline considerations in multi-layered situations.
Experience Required
- Experience with localization operations, portfolio planning, or regional production leadership.
- Experience managing multiple partner delivery environments with high predictability.
- Demonstrated partnership with senior Publishing, Commercial, or Development leaders.
- Experience supporting Greater China publishing frameworks.
- Experience representing organization in senior-level discussions.
