The Market Analyst, Shooters China delivers deep, market-specific intelligence that enables better product, Live Service, and Go to Market decisions for a specific franchise within a priority market.

Operating within a Product × Market POD, you will identify what is happening. It contributes to understanding why it is happening and supports the development of evidence-based recommendations. Using internal tools and broader Publishing intelligence capabilities develop these recommendations.

You will report directly to Head of Publishing, Shooters China, grounds all product recommendations commercially and aligns them to country-level commercial performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Market-Level Signal Detection (What is Happening)

Use internal tools, telemetry systems, dashboards, and external data sources to identify:

  • Player behavior shifts
  • Acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization trends
  • Live Ops and event performance
  • Changes in player sentiment
  • Competitive activity
  • Emerge opportunities and risks
  • 2. Diagnostic Analysis & Hypothesis Development (Why is it Happening)
  • Partner with the Product Market Lead and Regional Franchise Analyst to:
  • Form hypotheses on performance drivers
  • Validate anomalies and trends
  • Assess competing explanations
  • Apply internal tools diagnostics and AI-generated hypotheses
  • Contribute local context and market interpretation
  • 3. Market Context & Player Understanding 
  • Provide the context required to explain performance beyond telemetry alone. You are: The interpreter of market reality.
  • 4. Ecosystem Intelligence 
  • Translate observations into applicable possible effects for Publishing and Studio partners.
  • 5. Recommendation Development Support 
  • Partner with the Product Market Lead to provide:
  • Support analysis
  • Data validation
  • Market context
  • Risk assessment
  • Confidence levels
  • Impact assumptions
  • 6. Impact Analysis & Learning Loop 
  • Support:
  • Recommendation impact reviews
  • Outcome analysis
  • Forecast versus actual comparisons
  • Learn capture
  • 8. Collaboration with Regional Analytics 
  • Work with company partners to help ensure local depth and regional consistency coexist.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science, strategy, market intelligence, publishing, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with large datasets to develop relevant insights.
  • Experience within gaming, technology, digital entertainment, mobile, or consumer-facing industries preferred.
  • Experience translating analytical findings into commercial recommendations and decisions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing partners without direct authority.
