Narrative Design Intern, Summer 2026 (Jedi)

Founded in 2010 by the original creators of the Call of Duty Franchise, Respawn was created with the philosophy that when talented people have creative freedom, they’ll make extraordinary games that achieve the unexpected. From our roots as an indie studio to joining the expansive roster of studios at Electronic Arts, this remains our guiding principle. We truly love what we do and want to share our passion with players worldwide.

Our shipped titles include critically acclaimed multi-platform games Apex Legends, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars™ Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars™ Jedi: Survivor, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Join us for the opportunity to create groundbreaking games with some of the best developer talent in the industry.

Reporting to the Lead Dialogue Designer, we’re looking for a Narrative Dialogue Intern who will embrace our philosophy and work with design leadership, writers, designers, and other departments to help us create an incredible experience for our players.   You must reside in Los Angeles, CA during the Internship as we are not able to provide relocation or visa assistance.

  • Become familiar with all implementation aspects of narrative and writing.
  • Resolve complicated logic issues and come up with sustainable solutions.
  • You will help create design documentation.
  • Help identify needs for satisfying and engaging narrative gameplay mechanics.

Requirements:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program in a related field with an expected graduation date no earlier than December 2026.
  • Have a general understanding of interactive narrative mechanics.
  • Basic narrative design experience with game design, level design, and writing.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience with text-based scripting, visual scripting, and programming languages.
  • Knowledge of modern game engine tools and pipelines such as Unreal Engine 5.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles such as polymorphism and inheritance to create strong system architecture.
  • A player-first perspective to developing a refined gameplay experience.

We will only consider students who are enrolled in an accredited degree program expecting to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
