Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Come join us! We’re hiring a Player Policy Manager to be a primary contact for game development teams on all aspects of online safety. You’re passionate about trust and safety work, can proactively anticipate risks to EA and our players, and can explain user policies and safety products at a high-level.

You will aim to streamline the online safety process for our game studios. Your job is to understand our games and their features, assess the risk that those features may be used for harmful purposes, and ensure appropriate safety solutions are incorporated as part of the development process. Based on these assessments, you will track features for operational and compliance purposes, guiding the development and implementation of safety mitigations to comply with EA policies and local laws. Your work helps us know what features each game will launch with and the safeguards in place.

You are an expert in safety policies who can advise on EA player safety standards, then connect developers to specialist teams for optional or custom safeguards. You are backed by specialists who are responsible for: tool configuration, messaging, and metrics; safety products and solutions; quality verification; and legal compliance.

We are the Player Safety team and our purpose is to help EA players be welcome, safe, and included in our games and experiences. We define EA standards for positive player-to-player behavior—what is and is not allowed on EA platforms—to help players stay safe in-game and decrease disruption to other players. These standards reflect EA’s Positive Play Charter.

We are part of the Global Affairs organization that enables EA to inspire the world to play through advocacy, engagement, and partnerships. Our work strengthens EA’s reputation as a company you can trust.

You will report to the Senior Director of Player Policy and be a hybrid role based in Austin, TX.

You will:

  • Understand and represent EA’s player policies and safety solutions including content moderation, discipline for disruptive behavior, and in-game reporting.

  • Proactively anticipate risks and track features to assess the safety needs of our upcoming games and services.

  • Track conversations, contacts, and milestones between teams.

  • Manage an individual portfolio of partners such as Safety Product, Customer Experience, Studios, and Legal. Your connections to these teams and their processes bring together all the pieces of online safety that a development team needs to know.

  • Represent Player Safety at Studio meetings, project meetings, and quarterly business updates.

  • Draft project updates, meeting readouts, and other internal communications to keep your team and partners informed.

  • Present your work in detail to product teams or at a high-level to new partners and leadership teams.

  • Note: As part of making experiences safer for players, you may need to discuss, research, or review offensive content including vulgar language, hateful conduct, violence, and harassment.

Qualifications and achievements:

  • 6+ years of trust and safety, product policy, online safety operations, or similar experience.

  • Experience assessing software products for user-to-user features and related safety mitigations

  • Experience establishing internal relationships where teams relied on you as their contact for standard processes and guidance.

  • Excellent work management skills with experience tracking multiple projects including tradeoffs and dependencies.

  • Experience collaborating with a remote team in multiple time zones

  • Experience applying sound reasoning to a high-stakes, reactive situation.
