Central Technology is the force multiplier, accelerating creative opportunity and progress at EA. We're a world-class community of technologists, innovators, strategists, and orchestrators transforming interactive entertainment. Together, we power the platforms, AI-driven tools, live services, and infrastructure that ensure global scale, secure player experiences, and unlock bold new possibilities.

The Data & Insights (D&I) team transforms data into actionable insights that power EA. We guide strategy and governance, build data and AI solutions, and ensure personalization experimentation and analytics; partnering across teams to improve decisions and create more meaningful player experiences.

The Role

We are hiring a Principal Analyst who will lead high-impact data and insights initiatives that inform strategic product decisions and improve player experiences across Apex Legends.

This is a Director-level role with responsibility for shaping analytics strategy, influencing senior leadership decisions, and driving measurable impact on the player experience and business. You will partner closely with Apex product, design, and engineering teams to tackle complex, ambiguous problems, and work across a multidisciplinary Data & Insights team—including analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and BI engineers—to drive large-scale analytical efforts and shape long-term investment areas for the franchise.

This role reports to the Head of Entertainment Insights and partners closely with franchise stakeholders and central data teams.

What You'll Do

  • Strategy & Domain Leadership: Lead analytics strategy and execution for a core product domain, aligning priorities with product, design, and engineering partners

  • Problem Structuring: Translate ambiguous business and product questions into structured analytical approaches and measurable outcomes

  • Business Impact: Deliver high-impact insights that inform product decisions, improve player experience, and drive business performance

  • Measurement & KPIs: Define and evolve KPIs, measurement frameworks, and reporting to support decision-making at multiple levels of the organization

  • Cross-functional Execution: Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality data, scalable solutions, and effective use of insights across the product lifecycle

  • Stakeholder Influence: Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions through clear, data-driven narratives

  • AI & Scalable Insights: Leverage and advance the use of AI and automation to accelerate speed to insight, improve analytical scalability, and enhance how insights are generated and consumed across the organization

What You'll Bring

  • 8–12+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a senior IC driving strategy and impact in complex, ambiguous environments

  • Experience working on live service games or similar digital products

  • Strong expertise in SQL and experience with Python or R for statistical analysis

  • Deep experience with experimentation (A/B testing), causal inference, and measurement frameworks

  • Experience working with large-scale telemetry data and player behavior analysis

  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate data into actionable insights

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, including executive-level presentations

  • Experience working cross-functionally across disciplines, including product, design, engineering, data science, data engineering, and BI teams

  • Familiarity with personalization systems, machine learning applications, or AI-driven analytics is a plus
