The Role: We are looking for an experienced Production Director who is passionate about both process and gaming, to provide daily production leadership to the Live Ops & Engagement Team. You will manage project, feature and resource planning, balance scope with capacity, track progress, implement and improve processes, mentor people, and manage risks, contingencies, and mitigations. You are a master of development pipelines. You understand the iterative nature of creative processes and how to empower them. You are a force multiplier for the team.

You will report to the Production Line Director. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage cross-functional team(s) which consist of Software Engineers, Designers, Specialists in UX/UI, and Audio.

  • Lead Live Service teams, simultaneously working on multiple releases.

  • Oversee your teams' roadmap across all development stages: pre-pro, production, launch, and live service.

  • Implement Scope and Capacity management across internal and external teams.

  • Coordinate your teams' discipline leaders to breakdown deliverables, estimate tasks, plan sprints, and run sprint rituals like standup and retrospectives.

  • Establish engagement processes to ensure the teams' define all workflows, document processes, and train staff in expectations.

  • Align all involved teams towards the outlined goals, while guiding your team to achieve milestones on time and at quality.

  • Communicate the project status with all levels of leadership, including risks, contingencies, and mitigation plans.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, and balance needs versus technical constraints.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Mentor more junior production people.

  • Maintain an inclusive environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 8+ years working as a project, program or production manager in technology, games, or equivalent field.

  • Experience working in AAA Live Service game development including managing multiple releases simultaneously on a live product, with cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with managing a team to deliver on time and at quality, with an emphasis on team health.

  • Previous practice with delivering while simultaneously empowering team leads and team members to own parts of the planning process.

  • Understanding of project management frameworks such as Agile or Waterfall and tools such as Jira, Shotgrid, Perforce, Airtable, or similar.

  • Expertise in knowing the status of your project and visualizing that status for any audience.

  • Prior experience tailoring communication to all levels of an organization.

  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and coaching other production people.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$138,700 - $199,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
