Report to: QV Director Development

We are looking for an experienced Test expert for EA China studio in Shanghai. You will have solid experience driving qualities with in-depth understanding of software design and implementation. You will identify quality issues and bugs as early as possible in the development cycle. You will become the voice of quality for the project. Also, we require test strategies and experience which challenge the software to provide a very high level of quality. 

Role Overview

  • Involve all quality related activities during the development and debugging phase to ensure high delivery quality.
  • Design and implement end-to-end test plans for complex game system, covering functional, performance, compatibility, and live ops testing.
  • Organize Shift-Left testing initiatives by integrating automated tests and other best practices into early development phases, significantly reducing late-stage rework.
  • Communicate with the product and development teams to resolve issues that block testing progress, ensuring testing proceeds as planned.
  • Leverage defect trends, test coverage metrics and automated quality dashboards to drive smart decisions about priorities and resource allocation. 
  • Use predictive analytics to identify high-risk areas and define risk-based testing priorities to optimize coverage and efficiency.
  • Implement scalable test automation frameworks to reduce regression cycles.
  • Create real-time dashboards to track test coverage, defect density, and release readiness.
  • Actively reviews, quantifies and recommends adjustments or improvements across processes, workflows and applied methodologies.
  • Shares best practices with team or peers that support the effectiveness and efficiency of product practices and the method of how they are being applied.
  • Provide feedback on features with issues to improve in-game features by using solid data analysis to support the suggested changes. 
  • Identify opportunities for QA to provide early design feedback alongside defect prevention and defect containment activities.
  • Serve as the "voice of quality" in cross-functional discussions, advocating for quality best practices and promoting the adoption of efficient testing frameworks.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years testing experience, with expertise in testing methodologies for mobile/PC/web platforms
  • Proven track record of full-cycle QA involvement from requirements analysis through post-launch support.
  • Solid understanding of game development framework (Agile/Scrum) and QA’s role in development cycles.
  • Proficiency in debugging tools and defect tracking system. 
  • Experience with live issue tracking and analysis.
  • Experience with identifying risks and escalating to applicable partners
  • Experience with express ideas in the form of comprehensive reports, analysis and presentations.
  • Basic scripting knowledge or familiarity with test automation frameworks
  • Experience in API/Performance testing is preferred. 
  • Experience in Python or other script programming is preferred. 
  • Experience in AI quality solution is preferred. 
  • Experience in performance testing in game based on unreal engine is preferred.
  • Proficiency in read/write/listen/speak English.
