The Role
The Release Manager owns the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across FC Live Services, across our global regions. This role is also responsible for implementing and managing release processes. In its main capacity, it’s accountable for planning and scheduling upcoming releases with multiple product teams, working with teams to resolve release scheduling conflicts, ensuring release quality and secure practices are upheld to ensure the best player experience, and partnering with external stakeholders for release tasks and prioritization. The role of the Release Manager is a central point of communication for all teams requiring work to be deployed to the Live production environment. This role is fitting for someone who enjoys being technical and solving problems; this person will get the opportunity to work with all levels of stakeholders, and truly make an impact on our Live Services capabilities.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves stages such as scheduling the release, coordinating between teams, go/no-go reviews, and deployment of release
Enable collaboration across teams, addressing resourcing requirements and removing impediments
Manage relationships and coordinate release-related work between different teams at different locations
Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Continuously seek to improve team performance and processes through tracking KPIs
Collaborate with various partners and stakeholders to implement continuous improvements to release processes
Support and deliver regular release reporting
Experience
Min. 3+ years of experience in delivering products
5+ years of project/program management experience in software development
Solid comprehension of lean methodology
Detail oriented, organized and focused on quality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with different organizational levels, as well as ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
Ability to rationalize decisions in a clear and objective manner
Knowledge to act as a mentor in helping the team understand and apply industry principles and practices
Bonus
Certified SAFe release train engineer
Scrum Master or Agile Coach experience
Experience working as a software engineer
Experience with distributed development across multiple locations
Experience working with end-users on a tools or central technology team
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and certifications
Game development experience
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $96,400 - $133,900 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
