The Challenge Ahead

The Asian Controlling team supports US GAAP reporting and statutory for the Group’s legal entities across the region. Our Asian teams are in three main locations: Singapore, Shanghai (China) and Seoul (Korea).

A member of the Asian Controlling Team, you will have responsibility for managing the Asian close process and related financial reporting in conformity with US GAAP and supervising close, reporting and statutory compliance.

Main Responsibilities

The Accountant will be part of the Asia Controlling team, reporting to the Financial Controller in Korea. You will have two major areas of responsibilities: (a) Month end close activities, (b) Statutory compliance. You will address many accounting activities within tight timeframe including general ledger preparation and financial reporting.

Month End Close Activities

  • You will prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

  • You will prepare monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation.

  • You will review of the journal entries prepared by the offshore shared service teams on month end close.

  • You will manage the recording and settlement of inter-company transactions.

Statutory Compliance

  • You will support filing of VAT, WHT and corporate income tax returns.

  • You will partner with the external advisors on VAT, WHT and CIT filing.

Others

  • You will manage quarterly compliance audit of invoices and expense reports.

  • You will oversee cash management including review on the weekly payments.

  • You will support Controlling Manager on ad-hoc responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 2 -3 years of professional experience in general accounting or related field in a multinational organization

  • Business standard written English

  • Korean language skill required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (plus)

  • Experience in VAT, WHT (plus)

  • Knowledge of Corporate income tax (plus)

  • Oracle knowledge (plus)
