Description & Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate extensive experience with shipping multiple game titles or equivalent projects.
- Utilize expertise in state machines and motion matching to create seamless and dynamic in-game animations.
- Work proficiently in game engines like Unreal or Unity, ensuring smooth integration of animations.
- Debug and optimize animations in the game to enhance player experiences.
- Mentor junior animators, providing guidance and support during onboarding.
- Collaborate effectively with central teams and other game development teams, fostering communication and cooperation.
- Take ownership of a specific area of the game or feature, leading the animation efforts.
- Share experience and insights through presentations at internal and external conferences.
- Stay current with the latest animation technologies and trends, incorporating new tech like AI, ML, VR/AR, and more into projects.
- Collaborate with global teams in various time zones, maintaining effective digital communication.
- Create target videos to define animation goals and communicate them effectively.
- Direct talent during mocap sessions to capture authentic performances.
- Experience in people management, providing leadership and guidance to animation teams.
- A passion for sports and football knowledge, contributing to sports-themed game development.
- Proficiency in coding, enabling collaboration with engineers and technical teams.
- Experience with cutting-edge animation technologies like chatGPT, mid-journey, mov.ai, volumetric, etc.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
