Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

We’re looking for a senior publishing leader to drive the next chapter of APEX Legends, one of the world’s most successful live-service shooter franchises.

As Senior Director of Publishing, you will own the global publishing strategy and execution for APEX Legends across marketing, commercial planning, communications, and live-service operations. You will lead an integrated publishing organization and serve as the primary publishing partner to the APEX Studio leadership, translating creative vision into player growth, engagement, and long-term business performance.

This role is a unique opportunity to shape how a category-defining free-to-play franchise evolves — balancing bold creative ambition, player trust, and sustainable live-service growth at global scale.

 What You’ll Do

  • Own the publishing strategy and execution for APEX Legends, spanning global marketing, commercial planning, communications, and franchise operations.

  • Serve as the primary publishing partner to Studio leadership, aligning creative goals, live-service priorities, and business outcomes.

  • Lead global go-to-market planning for seasons, events, features, and major franchise moments — from player acquisition through long-term retention and monetization.

  • Champion a player-first, live-service mindset, grounded in data, community insight, and continuous learning.

  • Oversee campaign development and optimization, including positioning, audience growth, lifecycle marketing, and engagement strategies across platforms and regions.

  • Lead a cross-disciplinary publishing team, collaborating closely with EA Marketing, Finance, Analytics, Player Experience, and Studio teams.

  • Partner with publishing and franchise leadership on portfolio strategy, investment prioritization, and innovation in live-service publishing.

  • Build, develop, and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and operational excellence.

 What We’re Looking For

  • 12+ years of experience in publishing, marketing, commercial, or franchise leadership within gaming, entertainment, or tech.

  • Demonstrated success operating and scaling live-service or free-to-play titles at global scale.

  • Strong understanding of player behavior, communities, and platform ecosystems, including console, PC, and emerging distribution models.

  • Proven ability to drive business outcomes through creative excellence, operational rigor, and data-informed decision-making.

  • Experience influencing across creative, technical, analytical, and commercial partners.

  • Track record of building and leading diverse, high-impact teams in fast-paced, evolving environments.

 Who You Are

  • Strategic Integrator: You connect creative ambition, player needs, and commercial performance.

  • Live-Service Leader: You understand how franchises grow through seasons, communities, and trust over time.

  • Player-Obsessed: You listen to players, creators, and communities — and act on what matters.

  • Data-Driven: You balance instinct and insight, adapting quickly in a constantly evolving ecosystem.

  • Confident Leader: You lead through complexity with clarity, resilience, and optimism.

  • Cultural Champion: You build inclusive, collaborative teams that perform at the highest level.
