Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Game Creation

Join us in this exciting role where you will architect and enhance enterprise-scale software applications that bring our games to life. You will collaborate with our game teams across the company on popular titles such as FC, Apex, Madden, Battlefield, NHL, Skate, and more. As part of our new EA Madrid Office, you will report to a Senior Engineering Manager and together we will:

  • Lead teams to develop solutions and software architecture for high-volume, high-transaction applications specifically designed to support our game development teams globally.

  • Be hands-on, leading from the front and mentoring software engineers to achieve our architecture, design, and implementation goals.

  • Participate in discussions about requirements, where you will provide valuable feedback to all parties involved.

  • Report our progress and status through regular communication with appropriate leads/managers.-

  • Lead your direct reports, supporting resource allocation and addressing any issues that arise.- Provide constructive feedback on technical and soft skills to help each other enhance our abilities.

Job qualifications and requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise level software solutions

  • 7+ years of broad experience working with development technologies including Microsoft .NET (C#), ASP.NET/MVC, WCF/Web API/REST, JavaScript frameworks, HTML+CSS+Javascript

  • 7+ years of experience in database development using Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMs and related programming data access technologies

  • 7+ years of experience applying design patterns, methodologies and recognized practices like unit testing, dependency injection, test-driven development, continuous integration and delivery

  • 5+ years of experience architecting cloud-based applications using PaaS and IaaS offerings from leading vendors such Azure and AWS

  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with product managers to provide support

  • 3+ years of people management experience

  • Developed technical and product roadmaps mapped out over a year.

  • B.S. in computer science or a related technical field (preferred) or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Led projects using Jira and Artifactory with customers at an enterprise scale.

  • Experience with DevOps in a cloud environment, including automation experience and configuration as code.

  • Work with onsite/offshore resources across multiple time zones.

  • Experience with AI/ML.
