The Senior Quality Designer (SQD) reports to the Senior Development Director, Delivery – Sims Quality Verification.

This role is hybrid/in-office located in our Redwood Shores, CA, with the broader team distributed across multiple global locations. 

We are building a Quality Verification organization where we partner with development teams and we raise the quality bar for The Sims. Our mission is to promote creative velocity while protecting player trust. You will join our team as a technical workstream lead, managing verification strategy for base game and new content pods. You will remain hands-on in execution, communicate quality signals across the product, and work with us to grow quality practices that support predictable delivery and live health.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead verification strategy, quality standards, and test approach with care for milestones and risk.

  • You will perform hands-on testing alongside Quality Designers and Testers.

  • You will apply shift-left testing practices using source control, IDEs, and engine or editor tools.

  • You will partner with Development to identify risks early and ensure appropriate validation depth.

  • You will define and refine test charters, test plans, and validation approaches.

  • You will identify automation opportunities and partner with engineering teams to support adoption.

  • You will be the technical escalation point for quality risks and signals.

  • You will support people managers with technical input, without direct people management.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Quality Verification or QA on complex or live-service products.

  • Hands-on testing experience with risk-based test strategy.

  • Experience with shift-left testing practices and automation plans.

  • Proficiency in SQL for extracting and reporting on project data to deliver relevant insights.

  • Experience leading verification across multiple product areas and distributed teams.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.


Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. San Francisco) *$124,100 - $182,800 USD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
