The Creative Innovation team within the Central Technology organization is the driving force behind EA's cutting-edge research, 3rd-party partnerships, and content creation technologies. From AI-powered tools for character animation to groundbreaking world-building systems, this team researches, innovates, and integrates transformative technologies into creative workflows. Our team within Creative Innovation pioneers the use of cloud and machine learning technologies in our toolchains to empower content creators to create compelling games. You will be a senior member of this team reporting to its Principal Technical Art Director. This is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.
This role is hybrid remote/in-office, and you will work from either our Vancouver or Montreal offices.
Responsibilities:
Partner with research teams to take advantage of new technologies and systems such as machine learning to expand the capabilities of our content creation pipelines.
Work with various customers across EA, including game teams and central technology teams, to build shared and scalable solutions and pipelines that empower game teams to deliver amazing player experiences.
You will be hands-on developing and augmenting our automation and workflows, asset verification techniques, content management systems, and more.
Analyze problem spaces, risks, and dependencies across multiple domains and toolsets.
You can have a background in Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. You are comfortable working with both art and science.
Qualifications:
8+ years of production experience in either film, VFX, or games.
A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
Experienced at working with multiple domains such as: artists, engineers, and managers.
Proficient scripting/programming in Python.
Experience with 2D/3D art packages such as Houdini, Maya, or Substance suite.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
