Snr. PE Applications Engineer, People Experience Technology 

Reports to: IT Director, People Experience

Location: Hyderabad

We are seeking a Senior PE Applications Engineer with deep expertise across Workday, Workday Extend, custom application development, and AI-enabled solutions across the employee lifecycle. This role requires strong techno-functional capability combined with hands-on engineering to design and deliver solutions that extend beyond standard configurations. You will architect and build innovative, scalable applications and intelligent, data-driven solutions that modernize and strengthen EA’s HR technology ecosystem while enabling critical global business outcomes.

In this senior role, you will also be a trusted advisor and subject matter expert across multiple Workday areas—including Core HR, Time Off, Performance, Talent, and related modules. You will collaborate with business and technical partners to understand challenges, define requirements, and design impactful Workday solutions. Staying proactive in Workday's roadmap and influencing the use of new capabilities will be important.

Main Responsibilities

  • Architect and deliver scalable HR technology solutions across the employee lifecycle, leveraging Workday, Workday Extend, custom-built applications, and AI-enabled capabilities.

  • Deliver configuration expertise across Workday HCM modules, with a hands-on mindset in Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Offboarding, Performance and Talent, Time Off and Compensations & Rewards.

  • Own and promote DevOps practices for HR technology solutions, including applications and integrations, by driving CI/CD automation, release management, environment stability, support and operational excellence in partnership with EAIT platform and security teams.

  • Apply understanding of HR Systems to ensure data accuracy, understanding, and compliance across modules.

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of new features, enhancements, and system improvements.

  • Evaluate functional specifications and change requests, delivering scalable and high-quality solutions.

  • Influence architectural standards and engineering best practices across the PE technology stack, promoting scalability, resilience, and long-term platform sustainability.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and improve delivery efficiency over the HR Tech Stack.

  • Support upgrades, testing cycles, validation efforts, and overall system performance optimization.

  • Provide leadership during issue resolution, guiding partners through troubleshooting and solution paths. 

Skills

  • 8-10 years of experience managing HR systems in global environments.

  • 4+ years of hands-on HR SaaS products configuration and development experience.

  • Knowledge of Workday Extend and Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, PECI, or related frameworks).

  • Business-driven analysis, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage partners, lead projects, and provide complex solutions.

  • Experience with Workday security, domains, data objects, integrations, and architectural principles.

  • Exhibits a growth mindset and consistently evolves skills by learning and applying new technologies.

  • Must have full-stack web development experience supporting modern web-based solutions.

  • Independently leads product and program delivery with minimal oversight.

  • Must have the ability to support or implement Generative AI solutions within an HR technology stack.

  • Thinks strategically while executing tactically to deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Must have experience designing or supporting integrations across platforms using APIs and middleware.

  • Good to have a working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, with the ability to write and debug SQL queries (as such MS SQL Server, Snowflake, etc).

  • Good to have familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
