Description & Requirements

We are a global team of creators, storytellers, technologists, experience originators, innovators and so much more. We believe amazing games and experiences start with teams as diverse as the players and communities we serve. At Electronic Arts, the only limit is your imagination.

Are you curious about game development and eager to use cutting-edge technology? Do you excel in learning, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building?

About EA SPORTS Academy: EA SPORTS is searching for the next cohort of motivated software engineers based in either Vancouver, BC, or Orlando, Florida, to apply for our 2025 EA SPORTS Academy. The EA SPORTS Academy is a unique development program where you can earn while you learn with some of the best game development teams in the industry.

Your adventure kicks off with a 2-week immersive onboarding experience at our vibrant Electronic Arts (EA) campus in Vancouver, BC. Here you'll dive into both technical training, and an orientation to our studio culture, while forging in-person connections with your learning cohort, new colleagues, and leaders. For the third and final week of the onboarding phase of the Academy program, participants will be based onsite at their local studio to work on their final practical projects. For participants traveling from Orlando, EA SPORTS will handle and cover all travel arrangements.

After these initial weeks, you'll step into your full-time role on one of our dynamic development teams. Over the course of your first year, you'll continue to grow through both on-the-job experience and monthly dedicated learning activities with your EA SPORTS Academy cohort. With a support system by your side, you'll navigate the first 12 months of your career at EA SPORTS with confidence. This engaging learning experience is your chance to develop your skills and pave the way for a successful career in game development with one of the world's most influential gaming organizations, EA SPORTS.

Must be available for a start date of May 29, 2025, for onsite orientation at our state-of-the-art EA Vancouver studio (located in suburban Burnaby). Must then be available to work onsite at EA Vancouver from June 2-20, 2025, before transitioning into a full-time hybrid position.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will participate in training activities throughout your first year as part of your EA SPORTS Academy cohort
  • You will develop features for a cross-platform game.

  • You will write technical design specifications.
  • You will follow best practices to maximize game performance across multiple devices and platforms.
  • You will collaborate with designers, content creators and software engineers to deliver features.

Your Qualifications:

  • Degree in B.Sc. in Computer Science, or equivalent training and professional experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with solutions
