We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer who loves building smart solutions to solve complex problems with elegant, automated systems.  Reporting to the Technical Director, you will develop technology to drive automated validation of game systems and content on Skate™.


Location: Hybrid 3 days a week onsite at the EA Vancouver studio


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks and tools 

  • Work alongside AI Engineer 

  • Write code in C++ and other appropriate languages

  • Develop hooks and expose data required to create automated tests

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams locally and remotely to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions

  • Continuously improve existing automation systems for performance, reliability, and scalability

Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks or tools

  • Critical thinking, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience with game engines and 3rd party APIs

  • Game Design Experience

  • Fluency in C++

  • Experience with code/data in multithreaded Client/Server Architecture

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering or automation development.

Desirable

  • Agentic AI / agentic architecture experience 

  • Integrating AI solutions with AAA Console/PC games

  • Understanding of latest UI technologies, UI design patterns including development of UI frameworks

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
