Software Engineer II 


Frostbite is EA's state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine. Our global team develops creative engine features and modern tools that let our game makers create stunning games.


We are looking for an accomplished C++ Software Engineer to join the Foundation Team. The team is responsible for the lowest-level systems in the Frostbite engine, working with team members in Australia and North America. This is a hybrid remote/in-office role. As a Software Engineer reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager on the Foundation team, you will:


Responsibilities:


  • You will build testable, performant, and maintainable low-level systems used by other Frostbite or EA partner teams

  • You will participate in code reviews and promoting usage of coding best practices.

  • You will collaborate with the Frostbite engine and Frostbite game teams to develop new systems and improve existing engine modules that are shared across EA

  • You will support internal users of our engine


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience

  • Proficiency in C++

  • 5+ years of developing Systems on multiple platforms (e.g., Windows, Consoles and Mobile)

  • Multithreaded programming and debugging experience

  • Understand memory management, multiple processor use, and runtime optimisation

  • Familiarity with Source Control (Perforce, SVN, GIT)
