As part of the EAX Quality Verification Engineering and Solutions Team (QVEST), you will be part of the EAX team that guides the strategy and implementation of EA's network helping EA's community of players connect to one another and to the games they love to play.
Our work includes aspects of EA Connect; in-game experiences and strategies to connect players across platforms; the EA App; and a host of other consumer experiences and strategies. You will work with some of the most modern technologies on the market today while supporting the development and test automation teams in their efforts to release world-class solutions.
The Software Engineer will report to the Software Engineer III.
This role is hybrid remote/in-office based in our Vancouver offices.
Responsibilities:
Work with development and quality verification teams in an Agile Scrum environment to design and improve reliable tools, tests, and platforms
Develop supporting infrastructure that is scalable and resilient
Develop tools and systems to support testing or development
Test your own work and provide reliable, defect-free code that instils confidence in the automation suite.
Help set the technical direction of the team and facilitate productivity improvements to our engineering workflows
Qualifications:
4+ years backend service development with JavaScript or C#
4+ years of working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and relational databases such as MySQL and MSSQL
Experienced with building RESTful APIs with .Net Core and Node.js
Good understanding of software development life cycle, software engineering methodologies, and software quality assurance concepts and technologies
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab or Jenkins
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
