The Live Data Platform & Infrastructure (LDPI) team builds and operates the foundational systems that support EA's live games and services. These systems run at a global scale and allow teams across EA to improve live experiences for millions of players.


As a Software Engineer, you will develop critical infrastructure and platform services that power EA's live-service data ecosystem. You will partner with other engineering teams to ensure the platform evolves safely while continuing to meet the demands of live operations.

You will report to the Technical Director within the Infrastructure organisation.


Responsibilities:

  • You will build and operate large-scale, always-on infrastructure supporting live data across EA's global game portfolio.
  • You will ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of production systems, partnering with others for scaling and redundancy.
  • You will translate operational and technical requirements into system designs, balancing immediate delivery with long-term platform health.
  • You will develop automation, tools, and workflows that minimise manual effort and ensure safe, repeatable changes.
  • You will document technical designs, architectural decisions, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and reliable operations.


Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with production ownership
  • Expertise designing and operating distributed/cloud systems
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Experience with containerized/service-based platforms and production workloads
  • Experienced with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including EKS, EC2, S3
  • Experience in CI/CD and infrastructure automation


Bonus

  • Infrastructure experience for live-service or real-time workloads
  • Work with data-intensive or high-throughput systems
  • Applied AI-assisted or LLM-based engineering workflows
  • Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, Spark)



This is a hybrid remote / in-office role, requiring some in-office presence in Vancouver.


Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
