Intern Software Engineer, League Operations - Apex Legends Esports

Summary

 

We’re looking for a full-stack software engineering intern working remotely based in North America to join the Apex Legends Esports team who can work across our portfolio of esports technology, including backend services, and player-facing competition experiences.

 

As a software engineer intern on the League Operations team, you will be helping build out the already existing ecosystem and improving on it. You will implement awesome new products that boost internal efficiency, drive fan engagement, and improve the player experience. 

 

In this role, you’ll collaborate with many different teams within EA and report to a Software Engineer, League Operations, Apex Legends Esports.

 

Together, we will inspire the world to play competitively and make stars of our players and teams.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work as part of the League Operations team to support the delivery of exceptional online and in-person Apex Legends competitions and broadcasts
  • Implementation and testing of our internal tournament management tools, APIs, stats databases, competition websites, and other player-facing esports features
  • You will spend roughly 80-90% of your time hands-on programming, building and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code

 

Requirements

 

  • Experience working with cloud architecture across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and similar cloud environments
  • Proficient in modern programming languages used in our existing code base (TypeScript, SQL, VueJS, NuxtJS, and NodeJS / Bun)


US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous  relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

    • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
      º $19 - $29 USD Hourly


The pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.  We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k).  Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
