Software Engineer Internship 


Contract: Temporary Full-Time - 12 months

Location: Guildford, UK

The Challenge Ahead

Frostbite is EA’s proprietary game engine that comes equipped with tons of tools and technologies designed to build incredible games. Our in-house engine offers the unique ability to adapt to each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritise what to build.  Our goal is to empower creators all over the world to bring their best ideas to life by creating an engine that amplifies innovation across every discipline. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will help build features, test and integrate them in-game code, working together with other Software Engineers.
  • You will participate in an Agile software process including daily Stand-up meetings and Sprint Planning.
  • You will work with the dev and QA team members to resolve road-blockers and ensure the completion of tasks.
  • You will get to learn and follow standard software engineering processes and best practices for gathering requirements, design, implementation, and testing. This is a great opportunity for you to experience the gaming industry and the development lifecycle of a very large project.



Qualifications:

  • You are currently studying in the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s degree (not a graduate)
  • You are available to commence a full-time, 12 month placement in July 2025
  • You are located and eligible to work in Guildford, UK without the need for visa/relocation support

 

Desired Skills:

  • Programming knowledge in C++. Experience with C# is considered a bonus.
  • Familiarity with OOP and data structures.
  • Exposure to scripting languages such as Python.
  • Algorithmic knowledge using common computing algorithms.
  • Basic exposure to multithreaded programming and debugging.
  • Previous software development experience (including academic or home projects).
