Software Engineer – Intern

 EA SPORTS™ FC Mobile is the world's most played football game on the mobile platform, serving millions of players from all around the world. We are excited to open a brand-new chapter on our journey with the establishment of the Kuala Lumpur EA FC Mobile Team, which will become an important part of the global EA FC Mobile development team. We invite you to become a team member for the Kuala Lumpur team and join us on this exciting adventure to make EA SPORTS™ FC Mobile the biggest sports game in the world.

Location & Work Model: 

Onsite in Kuala Lumpur As a Software Engineering Intern for FC Mobile, you will work within a dynamic team that includes designers, engineers, testers, a product owner, and a development director to develop frontend components and features within the web ecosystem. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to work on web-based game features using HTML5 Canvas or similar technologies. You will report directly to the Lead Engineer.

 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain back-end components and effects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to design functionality and develop robust and quality code in alignment with business and user requirements.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and unit-tested server-side code using Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express, Koa, or NestJS). Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support web and game features.
  • Communicate with superiors promptly about the progress and risks of the project.

Qualifications :

  • Currently studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree. Passionate about making and playing games.
  • Ability to think critically and tackle backend challenges proactively. Solid understanding of Node.js and JavaScript for server-side development
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Experience or familiarity with coaching and message queue systems such as Redis or similar technologies is advantageous.
  • Excellent proficiency in English and Chinese.
