Software Engineer in Test

The EA SPORTS Security team helps make the games safe, secure, and fun by partnering with development teams, analyzing large volumes of data, and responding to security incidents. The Software Engineer in Test is an entry-level role in which you will collaborate with software engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, defect-free production code by developing test code that independently verifies the production code. You will report to a lead within the Security organization.

Responsibilities:

  • You will help us enhance the efficiency of testing through test automation and the creation of tools for Quality Verification (QV)

  • Create comprehensive functional and regression tests for production code developed by software engineers

  • You will help us ensure tests are scalable and cover multiple scenarios to validate code functionality and performance.

  • Monitor the code coverage of unit and functional tests to ensure critical paths and edge cases are tested.

  • Identify gaps in coverage and implement additional tests to address them

  • You will develop automated test scripts and frameworks to improve the testing process.

  • Create tools that assist the QV team in testing more, including test data generators, mock servers, and performance testing utilities.

 Qualifications and Experience: 

  • This is an entry-level role

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with client-server architecture and development processes.

  • You will understand software testing methodologies and best practices

  • Working knowledge of programming languages such as C++ and/or Java; experience with additional languages like Python or JavaScript will be an advantage

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $79,900 - $111,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
