As a Software Engineer, you will help build networked gameplay experiences for EA SPORTS™. We are looking for engineers who enjoy prototyping and planning, adding amazing new features to an existing and beloved game, and improving existing code.
Your Responsibilities:
You will participate in training activities throughout your first year as part of your EA SPORTS Academy cohort
You will develop features for a cross-platform game.
You will implement C/C++ code to ship directly within the game.
You will write technical design specifications.
You will follow best practices to maximize game performance across multiple devices and platforms.
You will collaborate with designers, content creators and software engineers to deliver features.
Your Qualifications:
Degree in B.Sc. in Computer Science, or equivalent training and professional experience.
Proficiency in C++ programming.
Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices.
Work in a collaborative team environment.
Experience solving challenging engineering problems with solutions
Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge, principles and solutions.
1+ years of experience with another programming language(s) (C# or Java) and platforms (tablets, game consoles) is a major plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
