The Data Collection & Licensing (DCL) group of EA SPORTS FC is looking for a Software Engineering Lead with experience driving innovation in the gaming industry. Our mission is to make FC as authentic as possible, and your team lets us do that more efficiently and to a higher quality.

As Software Engineering Lead, you will report to DCL's Technical Lead and manage our distributed team of engineers tasked with advancements in automation, tool development, and future game features. You will be a hybrid position based in our offices in Cologne, Germany.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software engineers to develop mission-critical tools and data pipelines.

  • Provide mentorship to lead by example and grow your team's professional capabilities.

  • Guide technical innovation to improve development efficiency and delivery performance.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and project roadmaps to support FC Franchise goals.

  • Collaborate with other FC teams to improve game systems.

  • Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • 7+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.

  • 3+ years leading Software Engineering or Data Science teams.

  • Proficiency in multiple languages and frameworks including C#, React, Angular, and JavaScript.

  • Experience working on data ingestion pipelines and databases (SQL).

  • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners and ability to collaborate with multiple cross-discipline teams.

  • GraphQL, Python, and Machine Learning experience is a bonus.
