Senior Director, Global Compensation

Description

This role is ideal for someone with strength and experience building and executing broad-based compensation strategies and programs.   You have global compensation expertise and a passion for leading and developing teams.   You express appreciation for the details and enjoy engaging with executive audiences. Ideally, you've worked in the high technology or entertainment industry. You will report to the VP of Total Rewards, who also leads the Executive Compensation function, Benefits team, and Workplaces organization. Lastly, you have a long-term interest in leading a Total Rewards function in the future.

Responsibilities

Strategy and Functional Leadership:

  • Lead the strategic review, design, implementation, and communication of EA's broad based compensation philosophy and programs.
  • Provide specific recommendations and plans that will enhance the company's ability to attract, motivate, and retain talent at all levels, across the world and drive its strategic and operational objectives. Drive us towards innovation in our programs where appropriate to deliver a continuous improvement in our people's experience with Total Rewards.
  • Continue to align compensation within a larger total rewards framework, with focus on diversity, and inclusion, and manage the evolution of EA's approach to pay equity.

 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Within PE, you will partner closely and effectively with Executive Compensation, Benefits, Workplaces, COE partners including the Talent Insights and Performance team, and the PE Business Partner and Practices Partner teams in thinking through and executing strategy, design and implementation.
  • Outside of PE, partner closely with senior management, the Compensation Committee of the Board, and appropriate consultants to ensure that the company has a progressive, comprehensive and cost-effective approach to compensation offerings.

 

Operations and Execution:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for workflows/ how the work gets done- including operational complexity, with an eye toward removing roadblocks, improving efficiencies, and fostering a seamless employee and team member experience.
  • Direct the development of communication plans, materials and presentations related to new and existing employee compensation plans and processes to ensure effectiveness, understanding and appreciation, as well as communicating the correlation of the plans and our business strategies.

 

Team Management and Development:

  • Build and effectively lead an exceptional Compensation team; ensure that they are technically strong, are effective partners, and capable of delivering on commitments, on time and at quality.
  • Foster the development of talent, ensuring their ongoing skill and career development.

 

Domain Expertise:

  • You will navigate complexity using quantitative analysis, including dynamic scenario modeling.
  • You keep up-to-date and report on legislation, regulations and media articles about compensation.

Qualifications

Desired Experiences:

  • 10+ years in the field of compensation
  • Effectively managing people, demonstrated through a strong ethic of coaching and development
  • Partnerships with the most senior leadership of a public company around compensation programs
  • Stakeholder management in a large and complex organization
  • Global experience across multiple countries and regions
  • Leading project teams including members outside your function
  • Work with Finance and Legal partners on technical aspects of compensation, and tax and regulatory issues in a variety of countries.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop a cohesive, collaborative, and effective team
  • Comfortable and experienced with complexity and analytics
  • Subject matter expertise in compensation practices and trends, SOX and regulatory compliance, as well as knowledge of legislation affecting pay programs
  • Expert in formatting and presenting compensation data, conclusions and proposals, including to executives- adjusting presentation style and altitude by audience segment

Other:

  • B.A. or B.S. in a related field.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, Master’s in Economics or HR
  • Prior experience in consulting
  • Experience in high-tech or entertainment industry

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento) * $202,700 - $308,800 USD
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane) * $191,100 - $281,600 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
