Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

About the Role

Quality is not a gate at the end. We engineer it from the start.

As Senior Engineering Manager for FC QVE, you will lead quality engineering team embedded within the EA SPORTS FC franchise. You will redefine how you build, and sustain software quality across one of the world's largest sports titles.

We are looking for a leader who operates with urgency, dives deep into systems, and refuses to accept mediocrity. You will manage outcomes end-to-end — from technical architecture to talent density — and build mechanisms that scale.

You report to the TD2 of FC QVE and serve as a force multiplier across the franchise.

Workplace Type: Hybrid Burnaby, B.C.

What You'll Do

Execution & Delivery at Scale

  • Lead an embedded engineering team delivering scalable, production-grade quality platforms.

  • Manage delivery of large-scale projects with measurable outcomes.

  • Reduce defect escape, shorten feedback loops, and improve release confidence.

  • Guide execution & discipline, planning, prioritisation, and removing blockers.

Strategy Translation & Roadmap Ownership

  • Translate quality strategy into concrete technical requirements and executable plans.

  • Build a milestone-aligned roadmap with explicit delivery commitments.

  • Guide requirement gathering and definition across game areas.

Technology & Innovation

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, and implementation.

  • Integrate Generative AI, ML, and cloud technologies into automated testing platforms.

  • Ensure operational excellency where systems are scalable, durable, and maintainable.

  • Eliminate technical debt through deliberate, scalable solutions.

Develop Talent

  • Hire and develop engineers who operate with extreme ownership.

  • Create a culture of accountability, learning and deep technical thoughtfulness.

  • Coach engineers to think in systems, automate, and solve causes.

Influence & Agreement

  • Align Development, QV, and Production leaders around priorities and trade-offs.

  • Operate in high-velocity environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex systems.

  • 5+ years leading engineering teams with direct accountability for large-scale delivery.

  • Hands-on expertise in software architecture and scalable system design.

  • Proficiency in C++, C#, Python, and modern CI/CD practices.

  • Experience with React, Node.js, or Vue.js

  • Cloud-native architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark

  • Experience delivering AI/ML-enabled systems in production.

  • Game development experience and production pipeline knowledge.

You Will Excel Here If

  • You take ownership of outcomes — not just activity.

  • You excel at turning direction into execution.

  • You hold a high bar and build teams that meet it.

  • You dive deep into technical details without losing delivery focus.

  • You think long-term while delivering incrementally.
