Senior Product Manager, Player Safety

Come join us as a Senior Product Manager on the Player Safety team! You will help us create products that promote welcoming, safe, and inclusive games and experiences through moderation of player-to-player engagement and player-generated content across EA’s gaming ecosystem. You will report to the Director, Product Management - Player Safety in the Global Affairs Organization. We support hybrid work. You will be expected to work 2 days per week in our Austin office.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for understanding our players in the context of content moderation. For example, who are the players engaging in content moderation, reporting other players for violations, getting reported for violations, triggering our filtering products? With this understanding, you will define the safety problem space that we should prioritize and assess the potential impact of prospective solutions. You will work closely with technical product teams who will consume your business requirements and lead the technical design and implementation of your initiatives.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand the player & our business needs
    • research and define moderation challenges in player interactions and content
    • work with data science, policy & legal, centralized services, and community teams to identify pain points and opportunities
    • establish clear problem statements and ensure alignment with EA’s Player Safety strategy
  • Define the right problems & priorities
    • develop and maintain a backlog that aligns with business goals and OKRs
    • build data-backed business cases for prioritization and investment
    • work with cross-functional teams to balance impact, feasibility, and urgency
  • Shape Solutions & Drive Decision-Making
    • Partner with technical product partners to define solutions
    • Provide clear, written business requirements that align with EA’s safety policies
    • Collaborate with centralized platform teams to lead effective, scalable solutions
  • Program Manage Execution
    • if you’re from gaming, you can think of yourself as the “safety producer,” meaning you’re responsible for tying together the various workstreams for any given effort
  • Measure Success & Improve Continuously
    • define and track key success metrics for moderation effectiveness and efficiency
    • identify opportunities to improve detection, enforcement, and player experience
    • ensure feedback loops between detection systems, moderators, and product improvements

What this role is not:

  • translating business requirements into technical tasks
  • overseeing the technical roadmap
  • managing project delivery of a single engineering squad; technical product managers will be between you and the development teams during execution
  • working in isolation - this is a highly cross-functional role that requires collaboration across multiple teams

What we’re seeking:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in product management or business intelligence, ideally in trust & safety, content moderation, online communities, AI products, or platform products
  • Experience in problem discovery, customer research, and business case development
  • Ability to define and prioritize problems based on data and impact
  • Familiarity with machine learning, content moderation, trust & safety policies
  • Comfort mapping processes in tools like Miro or Visio
  • Experience drawing relevant insights from ambiguous data, including experience setting hypotheses and measuring performance
