Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.
"Motive" is the driving force within us that takes us from an idea to reality. Our studio provides a safe, trusting, and empowering environment for our game teams to unleash their creativity across massive brands. But we're not talking about the expected, the conventional, the cliché. We want none of that. Here, you will play a significant role in making the extraordinary. You'll also help shape our culture. Here, everyone has a voice, everyone can be themselves, everyone is welcome.

Motive is looking for a Level Design Intern to help create fun, satisfying game levels that support our creative vision, while learning how a AAA game is made.

What you will do as a Level Design Intern at Motive:

  • Help design and build small sections of levels within the project’s creative constraints
  • Support the team by implementing gameplay elements and basic level layout work
  • Learn how to bring levels through different phases of development, from concept to polish
  • Work closely with other designers and artists to improve gameplay and player experience
  • Make changes and improvements based on feedback from the team and playtests
  • Help document level design ideas and changes when needed
  • Play the game regularly and provide feedback

Who you are:

You are a student who is passionate about making games and learning level design, and you:

  • Have some experience with a game engine (school projects or personal projects)
  • Have a basic understanding of level design and player experience
  • Are curious, motivated and eager to learn
  • Can communicate your ideas clearly and ask questions when you’re unsure
  • Enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Are comfortable experimenting, trying things and iterating on your work

We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2026, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 4-month internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
