Systems Software Engineer Intern


Contract: 12-month Internship

Location: Southam

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office)

Responsibilities:


  • Work with our talented and experienced Systems and Engine team to develop and enhance our proprietary engine and toolchains.

  • Write code, scripts, and new features to advance our F1® titles and their underlying technology.

  • Support the internal development team by identifying, investigating, and fixing issues with our engine and F1® titles.

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues from a variety of disciplines, including art, design, and engineering teams, to deliver high-quality features and improvements.

  • Assist in maintaining, profiling, and optimizing engine and game systems for improved performance and reliability.

  • Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to learn best development practices and contribute to a positive team culture.


Eligibility:


  • You are currently studying in the penultimate year of undergraduate study with a planned placement year.

  • You are available to commence a full-time 12 month placement in July 2026.

  • You are eligible to work in the UK without additional visa or relocation support.


Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of C++ and solid problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with debugging and profiling tools.

  • Understanding of 3D mathematics and geometry.

  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and ask insightful questions.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of computer hardware.

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and inclusive team environment, working with both remote and in-office colleagues.

  • Knowledge of general gameplay and systems-related programming is a plus.
