Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.
Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.
We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.
Motive is looking for a Technical Animator to join its Iron Man team using Unreal Engine 5. You will report to the Technical Animation Director and collaborate with multiple discipline teams to help facilitate the realization of combat and locomotion in our game.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with gameplay designers, technical leads, and animators to understand their process and needs.
Implement or expand on gameplay animation features including locomotion, combat, hit reactions, and finisher moves.
Troubleshoot tools and workflow related technical issues with the animation systems.
Qualifications:
Experience with runtime animation systems for games in Unreal Engine or an equivalent engine.
Familiarity with animation principles and the nature of animating for games.
Familiarity with animated character data and workflows.
Excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.
Passion for making games look and play great.
Supplemental Skills:
Experience creating or maintaining animation workflows and tools within DCC applications is an asset.
Experience writing scripts/tools in Python is an asset.
