The Role

Reporting to a Development Director, you will work as a Technical UI Designer.  You will create and implement UI content for EA SPORTS FC.  You will partner with game designers, engineers, and artists to develop gameplay features using the Frostbite engine. This role is Hybrid based, working 3 days at either our Southam, UK, or Bucharest, RO, offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to structure, plan, estimate, and implement features that align with the game's goals, accessibility standards, and technical requirements. 

  • You will partner with engineers, scripters, UX designers, and UI artists to implement UI features including 2D and 3D layouts, menu flows, animations, AR elements, HUDs, and other interface components. 

  • Use visual scripting tools to implement UI logic and behaviour within the game engine. 

  • Iterate and improve implementations based on feedback, design requirements, art direction, and creative vision. 

  • Communicate progress and updates to technical directors and project managers. 

  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional game development experience working with game engines. 

  • Experience implementing UI screens, widgets, logic, and data flows in collaboration with cross discipline teams. 

  • Experience of prototyping concepts to test feasibility and iterate on ideas from concept through implementation. 

  • Experience polishing features to AAA quality and maintaining them throughout the production cycle while promoting best practices. 

  • Bonus: Experience with other UI systems such as Unity UI, Unreal UI, ImGui, WPF, or Qt.
