EA SPORTS Tech provides specialized technology teams working on modern character motion, content pipelines and workflows, machine learning, game security, dev ops, as well as long lead feature and technology development for all EA SPORTS titles.
As part of EA SPORTS Tech, the Technical Art Team helps push audio/visual boundaries and experiences for our players. We invest in future technologies, shared tooling, and production workflows. We combine creativity and imagination with technical expertise. We are a diverse group that encourages team members to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to work every day.
This is a 12-month contract to begin with, with the possibility of long term employment. This team works hybrid 3 days/onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) at EA Orlando.
As an Audio Technical Artist with Sports Tech, your focus is on creating shareable, future-facing tech and data, quality artist workflows, and collaborating with game teams, central staff and the community at large on the future of audio for the organization. You are a key component of the local and global audio communities, and identify risks, share solutions, seek help internally and externally and contribute with a positive, inclusive attitude. You work with and between game teams and our central team and help identify the needs of your partner game teams, as well as collaborate on prioritization of work we complete centrally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with audio leads, technical artists, and audio artists on game and central teams
- Build and optimize cutting-edge audio tools, pipelines, and runtime systems that support workflows and features across multiple major titles
- Create, extend, and manage both simple and complex audio assets and structures
- Support artists by understanding their needs and developing/improving their workflows
- Document and communicate system designs, data structures, best practices, and project successes and risks to partner team members and the greater EA community
Qualifications
- Successfully shipped at least one AAA game title in a technical role (or equivalent experience)
- Professional experience in either C++ or C# development on a game or engine technology
- Understanding of video game workflows, pipelines and runtime systems and logic
- Knowledge of good software engineering practices and the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of memory management, parallelism, and runtime optimization
- Experience in visual scripting and/or content management are a benefit
- Experience in sound design, audio editing, acoustics, music production or any audio post-production are a benefit
- Creative mindset with focus on how to improve product quality and team productivity
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $89,300 - $123,000 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and after 3 months of service - extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
