Technical Experience Designer - EA SPORTS™ FC

The Technical Experience Designer bridges the gap between artists and software engineers by combining artistic experience with programming and scripting. You will be part of the game development team and work with project managers, programmers and other technical designers, reporting to your Lead and Development Director.


Your Responsibilities
  • Maintain best practices in code and art development
  • UI animations and effects creation using a proprietary game engine
  • Apply proper art optimization techniques in art assets
  • Quickly identify and debug art and animation related issues
  • Motion demo design and creation for game front end and in game HUD
  • Collaborate with engineering and art, explaining both the art team needs and the tech constraints
  • Document tools and workflows on the internal Wiki
  • High fidelity rapid prototyping for UX evaluation

 

Your Qualifications
  • Technical skills, and ability to quickly learn new proprietary production tools and workflow
  • Familiar with scripting languages like Python and Visual Scripting
  • Proficient with Figma, Adobe Animate, Photoshop, and other graphics and animation applications
  • 1+ years of experience creating 3D motion graphics, or interfaces with game engines such as Unreal or Unity.
  • Visual animation and programming

 

Other Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Understanding of user experience principles
  • Understanding of revision version control software. Knowledge of Perforce is ideal
  • Degree in a relevant visual art or technical subject highly desired (e.g. BSc Computer Science or Game Programming , Game Art and Design Diploma)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $89,300 - $123,000 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
