EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in entertainment – connecting hundreds of millions around the world to the sports they love through a portfolio of industry-leading video games.

At the heart of EA SPORTS is the FC franchise. EA SPORTS FC is the world's #1 best-selling video game with over 200M engaged players across multiple platforms, including console, PC, and mobile. Innovation, passion, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. With studios in Vancouver, Bucharest, and Cologne, we're looking for the brightest talent, so we can continue to create experiences that connect with millions of hearts and minds the world over.

For this role we are looking for someone to help build out our core development team, specifically one of the back-end teams critical to shipping. We are looking for engineers who are strong at analyzing existing code bases and executing against designs. Bug fixing in existing features and tools and the addition of new, dev-only features will be the core of your experience.

Reporting to a Development Director, our Software Engineers will maintain a broad view of the game and engine systems and look for ways to improve performance, utility, and capabilities to our players and workflow enhancements to our development team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Work with internal partners to design, develop, and deliver new tools to support features or upgrade existing ones.

  • Debug and fix issues in the product or in the tools used to develop the product across a variety of domains.

  • Solve complex technical issues in a time-sensitive fashion

  • Ensure quality of the code by participating in the code reviewing process.

  • Coach junior team members.

  • Create clear documentation to support workflow processes.

  • Work with and communicate priorities with partner teams.

  • Participate in planning sessions and daily SCRUM style stand-up meetings.

  • Manage your own time and regularly log time spent on tasks to ensure project tracking and accountability.

Your Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in C++ and/or C# and deep knowledge of object-oriented programming

  • 2+ years of experience building game development tools or pipelines, including work on cinematic systems, timelines, or schematic flows within a game engine environment

  • Experience developing tools that support content creation or live services in a AAA game studio, ideally with exposure to Frostbite, Unreal, or Unity

  • Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Python and Java as well as an understanding of database technologies like MySQL and MongoDB.

  • Familiarity with multi-threaded/concurrent architectures, build engineering, and debugging with Visual Studio

  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Perforce, for tracking changes in the source code during software development is essential.

  • Experience working with console platforms (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) and/or mobile platforms (iOS, Android) is a strong asset

  • Exposure to AI/ML integration in tools or workflows is a plus
