Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

As the Vice President of Strategic Planning, reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) you will be a critical enterprise leader driving EA's planning discipline into the next era of growth. You will be based in Redwood City, CA.

As EA focuses on its strategic pillars – building games that entertain and engage Massive Online Communities, creating blockbuster interactive storytelling, and harnessing the power of community beyond the bounds of games – you will anchor the integration of market-driven strategy with long-range and operating plans.

You'll partner with senior leadership—across Finance, Publishing, Studios, and Corporate functions—to align our decisions with external realities and long-term goals. With leadership of three impactful teams, you will ensure that planning, intelligence, and execution connect into a cohesive strategic narrative that supports enterprise value creation.

Responsibilities:

Enterprise Planning and Influence

  • You will be the Strategy function's peer voice in EA's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) forums and other enterprise-level decision bodies.

  • You will be a trusted partner to SVPs across Finance, Commercial, and Studios, shaping decisions on portfolio trade-offs, investment prioritization, and risk-return profiles.

  • Embed external signals—market trends, competitive dynamics, consumer behavior—into forecasting assumptions and strategic plans.

  • Challenge planning baselines and assumptions with authority, bringing data-driven conviction and forward-looking perspective to each conversation.

  • Integrate inputs across product, financial, and market domains to create a high-quality strategic planning narrative used by the Board, CEO, and executive staff.

Strategic Planning

  • Oversee our long-range planning rhythm, aligning strategic goals with financial and operational execution.

  • Lead quarterly and annual strategic inputs for QBRs, AERM scorecards, and Board of Directors updates.

  • Build a unified planning framework that connects enterprise priorities with franchise-level decisions.

Market & Commercial Intelligence

  • Guide EA's external lens across competitive, consumer, and commercial trends.

  • Lead a team responsible for developing insights that shape investor narratives, M&A scanning, forecasting inputs, and market sizing.

  • Partner with Data & Analytics (DnA) to translate behavioral insights into executive-ready narratives.

Business Unit Strategy

  • You will ensure franchise plans integrate market trends, consumer shifts, and new technology developments (e.g., GenAI) alongside studio creative goals and technical capabilities.

  • Partner with Studio GMs and Presidents of EA SPORTS and Entertainment to evaluate product strategies, shape franchise direction, and prioritize investments and growth plans.

  • You will guide the team in developing business cases, scenario planning, and strategic frameworks that align with both studio-level goals and broader corporate strategy.

  • Oversee agreement of franchise strategies with financial planning, investor messaging, and enterprise-wide goals, supporting transparency and consistency in C-suite and Board-level communications.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, or enterprise-level strategic leadership. Experience in consumer media or technology.

  • Experience operating at VP-level or equivalent, influencing C-suite executives and leading successful teams.

  • Deep fluency in corporate planning processes, financial and commercial dynamics, and external market drivers.

  • Analytical Toolkit, with the ability to summarize diverse inputs into compelling strategy recommendations.

  • Experience managing diverse teams spanning strategy, analytics, and market intelligence.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree
