This role requires you to work onsite from Bogotá, Colombia (Salitre area).

We are looking for an experienced Development Director to join the Skate team. You will report to our Quality Verification Development Director II.

You will lead the strategy and delivery of the Quality Assurance plan on site with our growing team located in Bogota, Colombia and partner with our leadership teams located in Bucharest, Romania and Vancouver, Canada. You will focus on developing and growing a new team to support the delivery of Skate. 


Responsibilities


Project Management

  • Align teams towards outlined goals and ensure milestone achievement

  • Balance scope, timelines and overall project quality

  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage blockers, prioritize tasks, and ensure project goals are met

  • Ensure effective reporting to leadership and stakeholders

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Build, mentor and support QA teams, ensuring professional development and effective team collaboration

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, including developers, analysts, and producers

Process Efficiency

  • Improve operational effectiveness of team effort by assessing current practices, incorporating new strategies, and increasing predictability

Resource Management

  • Scope and capacity management across the Bogota QA team

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to ensure cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.

People/Talent Management

  • Coordinate talent management and succession planning to improve the testing discipline

  • Monitor and evolve talent skill mix through training and recruitment plans

  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion

  • Conduct performance reviews, career development, and training



Qualifications

Experience and Knowledge / Education

  • 5+ years of game or software development QA experience, including 3+ years in a lead/manager role.

  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams and working with remote teams

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working in a continuous deployment environment

  • Understanding of software development processes

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication
