We’re looking for a Software Engineer Co-op to join our paid world-class internship experience. The start date for this opportunity is May 2025 (4-month term), you may be eligible for course credit depending on your institution. You will report to the Development Director. You will assist with our experimental Research and Development work within EA’s Sports Quality Verification Engineering organization. This work will focus on the Machine Learning domain and will be the foundation for our next generation of tools and solutions for driving effectiveness and efficiencies in our QV process. You will play an important role in this transformation.
Responsibilities
Gather use-case requirements from our partner teams and organizations.
Provide research into possible solutions, running experiments, providing proofs of concept, demonstrating your results, and providing recommendations.
Provide improvements to existing solution implementations.
Update existing Machine Learning models and enhance data sets.
Help productizing ML solutions and roll them out to our partners.
Provide documentation and gather feedback from our partners.
Qualifications
Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software engineering or equivalent. Preferably, completed 3rd year of their program.
Experience with programing language such as C#, C++ or Python.
Have a good understanding of the interaction between software, hardware and network.
Have a general understanding for Machine Learning basics.
Have a good understanding of software development life cycle, practices and software engineering methodologies.
Stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments on new technologies, practices, and paradigms.
Have basic knowledge of technical writing.
We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program throughout this Co-op, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 4-month Co-op. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. .
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. PAY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $65,000 - $70,000 CAD
The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
