Job Title: Software Engineer-Java

EA SPORTS FC Mobile Shanghai is a global team devoted to developing and operating a high-quality mobile football game experience. As a software engineer, you are an essential part of the game creation process and are involved in the feature design and implementation of the game and live service. You will report to an Associate Technical Director.

Job location: You will work in Shanghai.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain server-side code and ensure robustness.

Responsible for the technical design of Service encapsulation/framework/DB storage/data caching in the feature development process.

Oversee the server-side tasks and develop tools to ensure the healthy operation of the game server.

Troubleshoot complex server related technical issues to minimize the occurrence of critical issues and reduce downtime and service interruptions.

Manage projects/tasks related to the server architecture/feature implementation, including planning, coordination, and documentation, and demonstrate commitment to delivery.

Collaborate with team members, stakeholders, operations teams and external partners.

Demonstrate impact through dialog, teamwork, and providing guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications

At least 8 years' experience in game server development

Proficiency in at least one of Java or C++

Knowledge of common networking protocols (e.g. TCP, UDP, HTTP and Websocket)

Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MySQL or Postgres), and in-memory data structure store (e.g. Redis)

Knowledge of container and serverless technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience in development for the Linux platform

Experience in version control software such as Perforce and Git

Excellent debugging capabilities

Experience in at least one shipped large online mobile game development

Nice to be familiar with the Agile/Scrum methodology
