Tools Software Engineer - EA SPORTS™ FC

Reporting to the Development Director, we are looking for Tools Software Engineer with demonstrable web development experience and an in-depth understanding of C++, C# and experience working with online Game Clients. You should have experience in both designing and developing RESTful applications, and have a desire to deliver without sacrificing quality.


As a central team within the EA SPORTS™ FC project, our team is responsible for delivering the tools that are used by Live Content producers to support many dynamic features in our game. As such, you would work with our internal customers to develop tools to support new features or upgrade existing tools and features. Whether you prefer working on new functionality, improving existing implementation, or fixing production issues, you will have the chance to contribute to applications that have an impact across the entire EA SPORTS™ FC project.


Your Responsibilities

  • You will work with internal partners to design, develop, and deliver new tools to support features or upgrade existing ones
  • You will participate in planning sessions and daily SCRUM style stand-up meetings
  • You will ensure quality of the code by participating in the code reviewing process
  • You will solve complex technical issues in a time-sensitive fashion
  • You will coach junior team members


Your Qualifications

  • High level of proficiency with C++, C#/ .NET, ASP.NET Core, REST API, and a good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with single Page Application frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue.js
  • Experience with writing efficient SQL queries
  • Experience with source control software such as Git or Perforce
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience in designing maintainable, structured, and documented code
  • Experience with object-oriented design patterns
  • Experience communicating effectively with other engineers, producers, and designers

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $96,400 - $133,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
