GAME DESIGNER I


EA SPORTS Madden NFL is the best-selling sports property in U.S. video game history. Madden NFL is an immersive, simulation-based, authentic NFL interactive experience, empowering fans to play out their NFL fantasy of winning the Super Bowl (and much more). Madden NFL has entertained fans over three decades with more than 130 million lifetime units sold.

Madden NFL is developed at EA’s Tiburon Studio in Orlando, Florida and in Madrid, Spain by a team that prides itself on innovation and creative collaboration. We are looking for talent with a passion for sports to create experiences that connect with millions of football fans around the world to grow the love of the sport.

The Opportunity Ahead: 

This Game Designer will work on Madden and report to a Producer, providing design documentation, speech scripts, and features that deliver immersive and memorable experiences.

What this type of Game Designer does at EA:

  • Support the game vision set by the Creative Director and Product Owner.

  • Deliver on creative ways to enhance gameplay, our game modes, and audio-visual storytelling.

  • Provide design documentation and script writing that meet EA SPORTS’ high standard of quality.

  • Coordinate and participate in the creation of prototypes and features.

  • Collaborate with other groups to provide design and/or script writing support.

  • Take and provide constructive feedback on designs and writing.

  • Use telemetry and personal experience playing the game to identify, communicate, and address bugs, tuning opportunities, and script requirements.

  • Remain current on industry trends regarding new features in sports games and other game genres.


The next great EA Game Designer needs:

  • 2+ year’s industry experience specifically in game design and/or game writing.

  • Knowledge of the NFL. Its players and teams will be your playground.

  • Experience creating and implementing game concepts using different tools.

  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for sports gaming.

  • Experience with troubleshooting problems and discovering solutions either individually or with a team.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent considered
