Description & Requirements

We are a global team of creators, storytellers, technologists, experience originators, innovators and so much more. We believe amazing games and experiences start with teams as diverse as the players and communities we serve. At Electronic Arts, the only limit is your imagination.

Our Motive is to create innovative action games within iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds, where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons, to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™, and now to building an original Iron Man action-adventure video game.

We believe in sharing our passion with our community, and with each other by having transparent discussions, by practicing an inclusive culture, and by nurturing a continuous growth mindset. Our approach feels simple, but it leads to the best work of our careers, and as a team, building unique and immersive experiences.

Motive is looking for a Lead Narrative Designer to join our Battlefield team. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with the Narrative, Art and Mission teams, and be responsible for creating and seamlessly integrating narrative elements into the game, with the goal of delivering a cohesive and memorable story-driven experience.

  • Guide your team to prioritize work, define deadlines and ensure content is delivered consistently on time
  • Supports your team in their long-term development and day to day work
  • Manage the scope and budget of assigned tasks to meet project deadlines without jeopardizing the player's experience
  • Participate in reviews, stand-ups, playtests, and work across departments
  • Support your team in delivering compelling action and emotionally motivated moments between characters
  • Generate compelling story ideas and narrative context for missions and gameplay activities
  • Collaborate with Writers and the Mission Pod to create narrative experiences that harmoniously combine story and gameplay
  • Script engaging interactive in-game conversations and narrative moments
  • Uphold established cinematic standards across the game and broader IP to maintain a design language
  • Collaborate in cross discipline efforts on scripted realization.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Lead/Manager position
  • One or more shipped titles in a Cinematic, Animation, or Narrative Design capacity
  • Familiarity with one or more game engine cinematic tools (Maya Motion Builder)
  • Experience with cinematic language, frame composition, pacing, tone, and narrative structure
  • Good understanding of narrative dependencies with other crafts such as VFX, Lighting, Audio, Level Design and Level art
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Additional requirements (nice to have):
