As the PR Manager, North American Football you are responsible for creating and overseeing the global PR strategies and how we talk about our Madden NFL and EA SPORTS College Football titles as the PR function leader on the North American Football marketing activation team.  You will report to the Director of Marketing Activation.  You will manage an outside agency and lead the development of press materials (press releases, fact sheets, blogs, messaging) and the overall positioning of the press narrative for your titles. This role is about more than press releases, though. It's about shaping the voice of our football franchises, creating excitement with fans, and partnering across teams to deliver thoughtful, high-impact communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the public relations plans for Madden NFL and EA SPORTS College Football in partnership with EA Tiburon and EA SPORTS marketing teams
  • Plan, implement and manage strategic PR plans that result in positive coverage and conversations about North American football titles  
  • Management of external-facing communications materials including press releases, messaging documents, blogs, fact sheets and more.
  • Plans and budgets for different PR events, programs and initiatives 
  • Quickly grows and maintains a healthy and trustworthy relationship with key spokespeople on the Studio and Brand teams 
  • Coordinates and staffs media interviews with Sr. Leaders and C-suite level executives, and provides interview preparation for each spokesperson
  • Measures and provides reports on each PR campaign and their individual campaign beats
  • Strengthens and builds long-term relationships with relevant journalists across endemic and mainstream media
  • Develops and implements crisis communications recommendations as needed
  • Ensure all Electronic Arts standards and processes are observed and followed


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a public relations or integrated communications role, working within the sports or video game industry 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
  • High ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage numerous projects simultaneously, while prioritizing high-return work
  • A self-starter with a passion for storytelling and a great attention to detail with a knowledge of grammar and writing. 
  • Manage multiple priorities and achieve high-quality results on time
  • Familiar with EA, our games, and the gaming industry

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento) * $103,200 - $145,600 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
