About Us: Our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team is an important part of our development process, delivering applicable insights that support our game teams to optimize software performance and improve gameplay.


You will work onsite from Bogotá, Colombia (Salitre area).


The Quality Designer (QD) will join us on the SONAR team in a hybrid work schedule consisting of 5 onsite days weekly. SONAR is a centralized organization in EA focused on Production services. Our mission is to Safeguard the in-game player experience by validating the transition from Integration to Production and continuing into Live Service. As a QD, you will be an important part of our development process and contribute to the quality of our games in a meaningful way. You will demonstrate a sound technical platform and game knowledge, have a quality-focused mindset and efficient partnership. The QD will also own test coverage on client and server releases, ensuring accurate results, and confirming the success of a release - running and outline retrospectives on Live Support. As a QD you will be reporting directly to the Development Director assigned to your specific Projects.

Job Summary:

As a Quality Designer I, you will take on a leadership role in shaping quality strategies, driving innovation in testing methodologies, and mentoring others. You will be accountable for the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of test coverage across client and server releases, ensuring the highest standards of quality and player satisfaction. You will report directly to the Development Manager for your assigned projects and collaborate across multiple franchises and global teams.

Your Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Test Planning

  • Architect comprehensive test plans, including scope, scheduling, execution, and reporting.

  • Integrate telemetry, data analytics, and AI/ML capabilities to enhance test insight.

  • Implement automation opportunities across feature sets and workflows.

  • Ensure test coverage supports rapid iteration and high-quality live releases.

Strategic Quality Leadership

  • Define and lead Live Quality strategies across multiple projects.

  • Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.

  • Influence teams to adopt best practices in quality assurance and live service testing.

  • Guide agreement on quality goals across distributed teams and partners.

Data-Driven Quality Analysis

  • Summarize data from diverse sources into applicable insights.

  • Translate metrics into strategic decisions that improve player experience and release stability.

  • Champion the use of risk-based and data-driven testing methodologies.

Cross-Team Collaboration and Communication

  • Be the primary quality advocate in meetings.

  • Communicate status, risks, and recommendations through clear, data-backed reporting.

  • Foster relationships with partner teams across SONAR and EA franchises.

  • Guide and support test execution teams across global locations.

Mentorship and Capability

  • Mentor Associate Quality Designers and other team members in quality strategy.

  • Lead knowledge-sharing programs and process improvements across the Live QV team.

  • Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence in quality practices.

Our Requirements

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in software development, quality assurance, or game development.

  • Experience leading quality programs and collaboration.

  • Proficiency with automated testing frameworks and tools.

  • A background in defect prevention, containment, and early QA involvement.

  • Experience with telemetry, data analytics, or AI/ML in testing.

  • Familiarity with back-end systems and server hosting infrastructure.

Skills
