Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Senior Director, Business Strategy - AI & UGC

Description & Requirements

At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren’t just places to consume content — they’re places where communities build.

Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA’s history — from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.

We are seeking a seasoned strategic leader to shape EA’s AI, user-generated content (UGC), and innovation strategy. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Strategy, this is a high-impact role at the intersection of technology, creativity, platforms, and business model innovation, with deep engagement across product, engineering, studios, publishing, and executive leadership.

This role offers a unique opportunity to define how AI-native capabilities, creator ecosystems, and new platform dynamics reshape interactive entertainment at EA. You will articulate the strategic vision, decision frameworks, and growth pathways for AI-enabled experiences, UGC platforms, and emerging innovation bets, positioning EA for long-term category leadership.

Responsibilities

Strategic Vision and Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders across AI, technology and studios, shaping long-term strategy and translating it into sequenced, measurable priorities.

  • Lead market and competitive intelligence across AI and UGC, tracking competitor moves, creator ecosystem shifts, platform policy changes, emerging AI capabilities, and monetization models, and translating these into clear strategic implications for EA.

  • Define and continuously refine EA’s AI and UGC strategy, synthesizing user and creator needs, platform dynamics, technical constraints, and regulatory considerations into clear where to play and how to win choices.

  • Ensure alignment between AI and innovation initiatives and EA’s enterprise strategy, portfolio priorities, and long-term value creation.

  • Deliver thought leadership on how AI-driven creation, personalization, economies, and community dynamics are reshaping interactive entertainment and how EA can lead responsibly at scale.

  • Build and maintain external relationships across gaming, technology, AI platforms, and creator ecosystems to inform EA’s strategic outlook.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and maintain core strategic planning artifacts for AI and innovation initiatives, including strategic pillars, roadmaps, measurable objectives, and investment theses.

  • Establish clear decision frameworks to guide build, partner, or buy choices, prioritization trade-offs, sequencing of capabilities, and scale or sunset criteria tied to measurable milestones.

  • Lead scenario planning and portfolio modeling for AI and UGC initiatives, including adoption, retention, creator economics, monetization, and cost-to-serve considerations.

  • Partner with Strategic Intelligence and Finance to build forecasts, unit economics models, and long-range planning scenarios that inform capital allocation and resource decisions.

  • Drive high-impact strategic initiatives end-to-end, including opportunity assessments, partnership strategy, incubation support, and M&A-related strategic diligence where relevant.

  • Synthesize complex analyses into clear, executive-ready recommendations for senior leadership, the CEO, and the Board of Directors.

Enable Innovative Growth

  • Help define the strategic operating logic for AI and UGC platforms, including creator flywheels, ecosystem incentives, governance principles, and safety by design considerations.

  • Support product and studio teams in balancing experimentation with disciplined investment frameworks, ensuring innovation efforts are tied to measurable learning agendas and scalable business models.

  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure clarity around KPIs, performance narratives, and success metrics across growth, creator health, engagement, monetization, and platform sustainability.

  • Ensure AI and UGC strategies incorporate trust, safety, privacy, regulatory readiness, and cost efficiency into strategic decision-making.

  • Identify new business models, partnership structures, and ecosystem opportunities that extend EA’s role from content creator to platform and community enabler.

Mentor And Develop Strategy Talent

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that encourages curiosity, creativity, and analytical rigor.

  • Act as a senior mentor and sponsor to Strategy team members working across AI and innovation initiatives.

  • Help build institutional capability in emerging technology strategy, platform economics, and ecosystem thinking.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in strategy, corporate development, business operations, consulting, product strategy, or GM-track roles, with 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity, ideally within gaming, technology platforms, AI-driven products, or consumer ecosystems.

  • Strong familiarity with AI-enabled products, creator or UGC platforms, marketplaces, or ecosystem-driven business models.

  • Strong analytical foundation and proven track record of defining strategy in emerging or ambiguous domains and translating it into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior executives, influencing high-stakes decisions, and operating effectively in high-visibility environments.

  • Exceptional executive communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical and market dynamics into clear strategic narratives.

  • Passion for interactive entertainment, creator ecosystems, AI-driven innovation, and building enduring platforms that empower players and fans worldwide.
