We’re a multi-functional group with deep expertise in storytelling, community-building, and player-first content strategies that amplify fandom and make games more accessible and engaging.
The Content Writer, Battlefield will be responsible for creating high-quality long form, editorial content to support the Battlefield franchise blog. This role bridges the gap between complex game systems and player understanding, helping players—from new recruits to seasoned veterans—navigate live-service updates, seasonal drops, and core gameplay systems. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Battlefield Lifecycle Marketing, this role will work closely with studio partners, marketing teams, and the Battlefield editorial pod to deliver timely, engaging written content that enhances player experience, fuels retention, and strengthens the Battlefield brand.
Responsibilities
Craft clear, engaging, and on-brand editorial content (e.g., patch explainers, onboarding guides, feature deep-dives, dev spotlights) for the Battlefield website
Translate complex game systems and updates into player-friendly content that drives comprehension and confidence
Partner with developers, producers, marketers, and community leads to uncover stories that bring Battlefield’s world to life
Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and quality across all written content, aligned with brand and player expectations
Collaborate with Lifecycle, Brand, and Community teams to extend written content across channels (email, web, in-game)
Manage a fast-paced editorial calendar, coordinating deadlines and approvals across multiple functions
Monitor player sentiment and feedback to inform content needs and opportunities
Support franchise growth by creating content that boosts engagement, builds trust, and drives retention
Help transform the Battlefield blog into a living editorial hub that serves new and returning players alike
Qualifications
Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following:
Broad knowledge of Battlefield gameplay and systems, with strong familiarity around strategy guides, onboarding best practices, and live-service models
Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex systems and gameplay steps clearly to a wide player audience
Ability to distill interviews and developer insights into engaging, accessible long-form editorial pieces
Proven ability to research and source information across official and community websites, wikis, patch notes, and forums
Demonstrated experience applying SEO practices to improve discoverability and drive traffic to content
Experience managing an editorial or content calendar, ideally in a fast-paced or live-service environment
Understanding of EA’s tone, brand guidelines, and the distinctions between PR, community, and CRM content formats
Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams (marketing, studio, community)
Production experience (e.g., scripting for video, publishing workflows) is a plus
Onsite role (Los Angeles) embedded with studio and marketing teams
