What does a Senior Technical Artist do?

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will report to Frostbite's Director of Content. As a part of the Frostbite Scene team, you will help make our development process more creator-centric by serving as a link between engineers and game creators.

What we are looking for

You are a technical artist experienced in content creation, asset building in DCC tools, and setting up functionality in game engines. You are passionate about content workflows, pipelines, and improving the creator experience within game engines. Your technical art experience includes using visual scripting, Python, or similar tools, and you enjoy working across multiple feature domains to build the best creator experience.

Your expertise in navigating the challenges of content creation and game engines will help us push the boundaries of the latest tools and workflows released by Frostbite to game teams.

You will

  • Build a positive working relationship with Product and Engineering teams, and users of Frostbite – including its tools – on partner game teams.
  • Analyze the current content preview system and contribute constructive feedback to Product and Engineering on improvements from content creator perspective.
  • Design and help implement content workflows around different domain systems
  • Collaborate with other Product Domains (such as UI, Procedural, Terrain and Rendering) to improve the content preview workflow (WYSIWYG) in FrostEd.

You will need

  • At least 5+ years of game/film production experience. You have completed more than 2 AAA games/movies.
  • Experience helping others achieve their best through game development tools.
  • Experience with a diversity of content creation tools within a game engine.
  • Proficient knowledge of scripting/programming in python or other languages.

  • A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems and to resolve technical challenges and limitations facing content creators
  • Effective at communicating with different audiences.
  • Have interests in UX/UI in content creation tools and workflow development.
