VFX Artist
Join us in building the future of Battlefield.
We’re looking for a VFX Artist with the creativity and technical skills to bring our vast, chaotic maps to life.
As part of the DICE VFX Team, you will contribute to the atmosphere of land, sea, and air across some of the most VFX-packed maps in gaming. Your focus will be on worlds, ambient effects, destruction, and environmental storytelling, helping immerse millions of players in the chaos, scale, and spectacle that only Battlefield delivers.
What You’ll Do
- Bring vast worlds to life
Design and author real-time VFX for destruction, ambient war effects, weather systems, fire, smoke, and epic set pieces that define Battlefield’s atmosphere. - Shape immersive experiences
Collaborate with Environment Art, Level Design, Audio, Tech Art, and Lighting to ensure effects support atmosphere, readability, and emotion. - Turn vision into reality
Work from art direction, concepts, and reference to build believable and cohesive VFX in engine. - Deliver performant effects
Profile, optimize, and refine your work to run smoothly across large-scale, systemic environments and platforms. - Grow the craft
Contribute to documentation, share learnings with peers, and help evolve workflows and pipelines in collaboration with Frostbite VFX.
Who You Are
- An emerging craftsperson
3–5 years creating real-time VFX for games, film, or related fields, with a portfolio that shows strong fundamentals and creative ambition. Even though we welcome applicants from a film or animation background, the emphasis in this role lies in real-time visual effects from game engines such as Unreal or Unity. - An artistic eye with technical skill
Skilled in timing, motion, and believability, with experience in particle systems, shaders, and procedural workflows. - A world builder
Familiar with real-time workflows for environments, destruction, and atmospheric effects. - A collaborative force
Thrives in cross-discipline teams, open to feedback, and eager to build alongside artists, designers, and engineers. - A learner and explorer
Motivated to grow your craft, improve workflows, and take on new challenges in large-scale, systemic environments. - A storyteller through VFX
Passionate about immersive gameplay experiences and excited to contribute to the spectacle, scale, and chaos that define the franchise.
