We are now looking for an Environment Art Director.
As Environment Art Director at Ripple Effect, you will collaborate with a talented team of passionate creators to craft believable spaces that deliver immersive gameplay. You will report to our Studio Art Line Director, based in our studio in Los Angeles, California. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options.
What you will do:
Provide artistic direction for multiple maps to create immersive and engaging environments that enhance gameplay and storytelling
Oversee the creation of concept art, 3D models, lighting and visual effects, ensuring high quality and consistency across all assets
Review and provide constructive feedback on artistic work, ensuring adherence to artistic standards and project timelines
Partner with the Level Design Director to support game modes, player encounter needs, and narrative elements.
Guide junior artists, promoting a culture of creativity and collaboration
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques to lead innovation in environment design
The skills you need:
10+ years of experience leading teams and collaborating with diverse groups
Familiarity with several aspects of game artwork: Concept Art, 3D, Lighting and Visual Effects
Understanding of color theory, composition, and lighting techniques
Experience with photogrammetry and planning scanning trips
